Sorting games hand you a mess and ask for order: colours grouped, sizes ranked, items moved into the container where they belong. The rule is instantly clear, which is why the genre is so easy to start and so hard to put down.
The difficulty is in the constraints. Limited space, a container that only accepts one colour, a move that cannot be undone. A level that looks trivial turns out to need a plan, and the plan is usually about what to move out of the way before you move the thing you want.
These play naturally on touch, with a tap or a drag per move, and just as well with a mouse. Levels are short, the current level is saved on your device, and there is no timer unless the game says so.
