Scenes from phone game ads, built as full games that play just like the video.

About Games From the Ads

The difference from the ad is depth. A fifteen-second clip shows one good moment, and a game needs a reason to play the next level. So each one keeps the move from the ad and builds a campaign around it: new obstacles and enemies arrive every few levels, and the challenge keeps climbing well past the moment the ad showed.

Nothing here needs an install, an account or a payment. Each game opens in a browser tab on a phone, a tablet or a computer, saves your progress on that device and plays with one finger on a touch screen. Where a game offers an optional short video, it only gives a retry or a small boost, and you can always keep playing without it.

What kind of games are in Games From the Ads?

Every game on this shelf started as a phone game ad: the short clip of a crowd running through number gates, a cannon flooding a castle with soldiers, a row of guards merging into a bigger one. Clips like these often show a scene the advertised app barely has. We built each scene as a full game that plays the way the video does, from the first level to the last.

Which Games From the Ads games should I play first?

Gatefire, Pumpkin Patrol, Crowd Blaster, Splash Rush

Why do phone game ads look so different from the game you install?

Studios make many short clips and keep running the ones that bring the most installs. A scene that is fun to watch for a few seconds can win even when the app behind it is mostly a different kind of game, so the scene may be a side mode, a few early levels or not there at all. In 2020 the UK advertising regulator banned two puzzle game ads for showing play the games were mostly not.

Are these the official games from the ads?

No. Each one is our own game built around a scene from an ad, with its own name, art and levels. None of them is made by the studios behind those ads, and none uses their characters.

Will more games be added here?

Yes. When we build another game from a well-known ad scene, it joins this shelf.
