No. Arcline runs directly in your web browser on a custom WebGL engine. There is nothing to download and no plugin to install; it works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and on phones.

It is one button. On desktop, hold Space or click and hold to fire the tether to the nearest node and swing; let go to fly off. On a phone or tablet, hold anywhere on the screen to grapple and lift your finger to release. A separate BOOST button (or the B key) spends charge on a mid-air dash.

Release on the forward-and-up part of the swing, near the bottom where you are moving fastest. That launches you cleanly toward the next node and banks charge for a boost. Letting go too early flies you low and short; too late sends you up and stalls. Every node can be reached by swinging, so you always have a comfortable window — it is about committing at the right moment.

Boost is a mid-air dash powered by the charge you bank from clean releases. Spend it to cross a wide gap, to rescue a swing that came out badly, or to smash through a barrier for bonus orbs. It always helps and is never required — the line can always be swung — so using it is a choice about when a burst is worth the charge.

Your score is the distance you travel before you run out of sparks. You control your own pace by how you swing, and the gaps between nodes widen the further you get, so higher scores come from reading the line and keeping a clean, fast rhythm going. Your best distance is saved on your device.

Sparks are your lives: fall below the line and you lose one, and the run ends at zero (you start with three, or more with the Spare Spark upgrade). Power-ups picked up mid-run are temporary — a shield absorbs one fall, a magnet pulls orbs in, a slow field slows the world without slowing your score, and ×2 doubles orbs collected. Permanent upgrades are bought with orbs in the Garage.
