Hold E, or the wrench button, next to a marked salvage point to cut it loose. Heavy machine parts need the winch instead of the cutter, and the winch is also what drags you out when soft sand takes hold - which only happens when you are carrying a load, so how much you take on is a real decision. Press M for the full map. The world is one continuous dry seabed of five rings, and each ring changes how the truck behaves rather than just raising a number: the salt flats have almost no grip and you slide through corners, the dune field bogs a loaded truck that stops moving, the reef beds tear the hull if you cross them at speed, and the deep basin overheats the engine until you stop and let it cool. Everything you can see on the horizon is a real place you can drive to - the wrecks are drawn through the haze on purpose.

Dustline 소개

Dustline is an open-world driving game set on the floor of a sea that dried up and never came back. What the water left behind is still out there — trawlers on their sides, a container ship half buried in sand, a drilling rig standing on legs that used to be underwater — and all of it is worth something as scrap. You have a salvage truck, a winch and a cutting torch, and the whole dry seabed is open from the first minute.

There is no invisible wall and no loading screen between one part of the world and another. It is a single continuous map roughly sixteen hundred units across, generated from a seed so that the same world is always the same world, and everything you can see on the horizon is a real place you can drive to. The big hulls are deliberately drawn through the haze rather than hidden behind it, because in an open world the honest answer to "where should I go" should be the view out of the windscreen, not a quest marker.

The map is built as five rings around Dry Harbour, and the important thing about them is that each one changes how the truck behaves rather than simply raising a number. The salt flats are fast and almost frictionless, so corners are taken sideways whether you meant to or not. The dune field is soft: a loaded truck that comes to a stop starts digging itself in, and gas only makes it worse. The reef beds are studded with rock that will tear the hull off you at speed but are completely safe if you crawl. And the deep basin, the lowest and richest part of the old seabed, cooks the engine until you stop and let it cool. Four rings, four different ways of driving.

That is also where the winch comes in. It is the second thing you learn to do, and it does two jobs: it tears heavy machine parts loose from a wreck, and it drags you out when the sand has you. Because bogging down scales with how much you are carrying, an empty truck usually powers through the dunes and a full one does not — so the question of how much to load before turning for home is a genuine decision rather than a slider.

The salvage itself comes in three grades. Plain scrap you cut free in a couple of seconds. Machine parts are heavy, need the winch and are worth several times as much. Cores are buried, and no amount of looking will find them: they only appear once you have bought the ground scanner, which is deep enough into the upgrade tree that it opens up a third way to work a wreck you have already stripped twice.

Nine kinds of wreck are scattered across the rings, from a small fishing trawler you can clear in a minute to a tanker hulk you will make two trips for. Which ones you meet depends on how far out you are willing to go, and the payout climbs with the distance — the far ring pays well over double what the near one does, which is exactly the amount of temptation the fuel gauge is designed to argue with.

Weather and time are not decoration. A dust storm rolls in every few minutes once you are properly out there, drops visibility to almost nothing and physically pushes the truck sideways while it passes. Night falls on its own schedule and takes your horizon with it, though the engine runs cooler after dark, which is a real reason to work the basin late. Neither one ends your run; both change how you drive through it.

Seven upgrades sit at the depot — engine, tyres, tank, cargo bed, winch motor, hull plating and the scanner — and each of them is about reaching somewhere you could not reach before rather than making the same trip faster. On top of that the world has things that happen exactly once: the first time the sand takes you, the first storm, the night the container stack shifts, a repeating voice on a dead radio mast, the ground opening up to reveal the way down into the basin, and a lighthouse at the far edge of the map that shows you everything if you can get there.

It runs in the browser with nothing to install, works with a keyboard or with touch pads on a phone, and saves where you were — including the truck, its load and the fuel in it — so you can close the tab mid-run and pick the same trip back up.

Is the world really open, or does it unlock in stages?

It is open from the first minute. Nothing is gated behind progress and there are no invisible walls — you can point the truck at the drilling rig on the far horizon and drive to it on your first run. What stops you is practical rather than artificial: fuel, hull, cargo space and whether you can handle the ground out there yet.

Why does my truck sink in the sand?

Soft sand only grips a wheel that is already turning. If a loaded truck comes to a stop in the dune field, the wheels start digging instead of pulling, and more throttle makes it worse. Hold the action button to pay out the winch and drag yourself back onto firm ground. An empty truck is usually light enough to power through, which is why how much you load matters.

What is the difference between the rings?

Each ring changes the driving rather than the numbers. Salt flats have almost no grip, so you slide. The dune field bogs a loaded truck that stops. The reef beds damage the hull at speed but are harmless slowly. The deep basin overheats the engine unless you pause to cool it. The last one pays the most, which is the trade.

I cannot find any cores. Where are they?

Cores are buried and genuinely invisible until you buy the ground scanner at the depot. Once you have it, driving within range of a buried core lets you scan it up. It is deliberately a late purchase, because it gives you a reason to go back to wrecks you have already stripped.

What happens if I run out of fuel or wreck the truck?

You get towed back to Dry Harbour. You lose the load you were carrying and a small amount of scrap, but nothing permanent — no upgrades are taken away and no progress is lost. Running dry a long way out is a bad afternoon, not a game over.

Does the dust storm ever actually hurt me?

Not directly. It takes your visibility down to a fraction of normal and pushes the truck sideways while it blows, which mostly means you should know roughly where you are before it arrives. Storms pass on their own. The fuel you burn driving blind through one does not come back.

Does it save my progress?

Yes, automatically in your browser. It keeps your scrap, your upgrades, every wreck you have found and stripped, and even where the truck was parked with what was on the back of it — so you can shut the tab halfway through a run and resume the same trip.
