자주 묻는 질문

How do I attack?

Press Space or J. Your fighter swings in whatever direction they last moved, so there is no separate aiming - you turn by walking. That is deliberate: it means every attack costs you a moment of not retreating, and it makes the difference between weapons matter, because a spear that only reaches along a line is very different from a blade that covers a wide arc in front of you.

How does loot work?

Enemies drop weapons when they die, and walking over a dropped weapon equips it immediately. There is no inventory screen and no confirmation, so the decision gets made in the middle of a fight - which is the interesting version of the decision. You can only carry one weapon, so picking something up always means giving something up.

Which weapon is the best?

None of them, and that is on purpose. The spear out-ranges everything but misses anything standing to your side. The hammer buys you space but hits for less. The dagger is weak on contact and strong afterwards. The rod is poor against a single target and the best thing in the game against a scattered room. Whether the weapon you just picked up is an upgrade depends entirely on the room you are about to walk into.

How do I deal with the charger?

Not by running. A charger is slower than you until it stops and winds up, and then it is much faster than you for about half a second along one fixed line. That line is drawn on the floor while it is winding up, which is your cue: step out of it rather than trying to out-run it. Once it has committed it cannot steer, so the moment right after a dash is the safest time in the room to hit it.

What do embers buy?

Permanent boons, bought between runs on the screen you get when a run ends. Ember Ward raises your starting health, Quick Hands shortens the swing cooldown, Scavenger makes weapons drop far more often, Second Wind heals you more between rooms, and Keepsake - the expensive one - lets you keep the weapon you were carrying when you fall, which is the one upgrade that changes the rules rather than the numbers.

Do I lose everything when I die?

You lose the weapon you were carrying and any loot on the floor. You keep your embers and your best-room record, so the meta-progress survives the run. That split is the contract the game is built on: the run is allowed to be lost, the session is not.
