Your blade is always ember (warm orange) or frost (ice blue), and only the gates on the road change it: run through an ember gate and you are ember until the next frost gate. Jumping never changes your colour. Fruit counts as harvested only when its colour matches yours at the moment of contact - glowing targets are safe, dull ones are decoys to hop. Sky rings, from the eighth leg, are the one way to change colour in mid-air on purpose.

You touched a fruit in the opposite colour to your blade. Nothing lethal happens - you lose the chain multiplier, take a small mark against your stars, and carry on - but the coins you would have earned are gone. The fix is reading the glow a beat earlier: only the glowing fruit are yours, so aim your jumps at those and let the dull ones pass under or over you.

Colour gates are the archways that recolour you; they never punish you, they just set the rule for the stretch ahead. Quota gates end the leg: reach them having harvested the number shown on the HUD. Bosses wear a coloured shield and fly ahead of you down a long arena lined with two-orb poles: stay on the ground at a pole to take its bottom colour, jump to take the top one, and the orb that matches the shield glows. Right after each pole the boss dives to your height - matching colour cuts it, the wrong colour gets you knocked down. Every hit flips the shield, and there are only a few more poles than the boss has hits, so misses add up and it can escape.

You simply keep winning legs. Winter Glade opens after the summer boss, Autumn Ridge after the winter boss, Spring Grove after autumn, and Legend Remix after spring. Coins persist between legs, so even a failed run funds the upgrades - magnet radius, combo shields, cushions - that make the next attempt easier.
